Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Drive Around (the instructor) and the learner driver (the student). By booking a lesson, you agree to these terms.
1. Booking & Payment
- All lessons must be paid in advance via bank transfer to confirm the booking.
- Lessons are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
- Block bookings are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Any unused lessons after this period will expire and cannot be refunded or transferred.
2. Cancellations, Rescheduling & No-Shows
- 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a lesson; otherwise, the full lesson fee will be charged.
- If the student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time, and the full lesson fee will apply.
- If the instructor needs to cancel a lesson, it will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed time at no extra charge.
- Lessons will go ahead in most weather conditions, but if roads are deemed unsafe (e.g., due to snow or ice), lessons may be rescheduled at no extra cost.
3. Learner Responsibilities
- The learner must hold a valid UK provisional driving licence and bring it to the first lesson.
- The learner must be fit to drive, including:
- Being free from the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Wearing glasses or contact lenses if required.
- Using appropriate footwear and clothing for safe driving.
- The instructor reserves the right to refuse a lesson if the learner is unfit to drive. If this happens, the lesson will still be charged in full.
4. Insurance & Liability Coverage
- The instructor’s car is fully insured for driving tuition, covering both the instructor and learner.
- This insurance does not cover personal injury sustained by the learner outside of lesson time or any personal belongings left in the car.
- If the learner ignores safety instructions or drives recklessly, they may be held responsible for any damages, penalties, or costs incurred.
5. In-Car Cameras & Recording
- Drive Around vehicles are equipped with front and rear dashcams and may also have an interior camera that records video and audio inside the car.
- The cameras are used for safety, training, and educational purposes.
- Some footage may be shared on social media or educational platforms to help other learners.
- By taking lessons with Drive Around, you give consent to being recorded and understand that footage may be used for educational purposes.
- There is no financial compensation for any student featured in recorded content.
- Recordings are stored securely and will not be shared with third parties unless required by law.
6. Use of Instructor’s Car for the Driving Test
- The use of the instructor’s car for a driving test is subject to approval and is not guaranteed.
- The instructor will assess the learner’s driving ability before confirming use of the car for the test.
- A separate fee applies for using the instructor’s car for the test, which must be paid in advance.
- If the learner fails to show up on time for their test or is deemed unsafe to drive on the test day, the instructor reserves the right to withhold the car. No refunds will be provided.
- The instructor is not responsible for any delays, cancellations, or failures caused by the DVSA.
7. Vouchers & Gift Cards
- All lesson vouchers and gift cards are non-refundable and must be used within their validity period.
- Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another learner.
8. Data Protection & Privacy Policy
- Any personal details provided (e.g., name, contact information) will be kept strictly confidential and only used for booking purposes.
- Drive Around does not share personal data with third parties.
- For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
9. Complaints Procedure
- If a learner is dissatisfied with their lessons, they should raise their concerns with the instructor as soon as possible so that the issue can be addressed.
10. Code of Conduct
- The instructor will always behave professionally and respectfully.
- The learner must also treat the instructor and the vehicle with respect. Any aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour will result in termination of lessons without a refund.
