Refunds & Cancellations Policy
At Drive Around, we are committed to providing high-quality driving lessons and ensuring a smooth booking experience. Please read our refund and cancellation policy carefully before booking your lessons.
1. Booking, Payment & Confirmation
- Lessons must be paid in advance via bank transfer to secure a booking.
- A lesson is only confirmed once payment has been received.
2. Cancellations & Rescheduling
- If you need to cancel a lesson, at least 24 hours’ notice must be given. In this case, the lesson can be rearranged at no extra cost.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full, whether the lesson is part of a block booking or an individual lesson. The missed lesson will be deducted from any pre-paid block bookings and will not be rescheduled or refunded.
3. No Refunds for Missed or Late Arrivals to Lessons
- If you miss your lesson or arrive late, no refunds, reschedules, or exchanges will be offered.
- Lessons will begin at the scheduled time—if you are late, the lesson will still end at the original time, and the full lesson fee will apply.
- It is the learner’s responsibility to be on time and prepared for each lesson.
4. Block Booking Lessons – Validity, Usage & Cancellation
- Block bookings are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
- Any unused lessons after this period will expire and cannot be refunded or transferred.
- Cancellations for block-booked lessons require at least 24 hours’ notice. Failure to cancel within this timeframe will result in the lesson being charged in full and deducted from the block booking.
- If a student does not book or attend a lesson for a period of 6 months, their remaining lessons may be forfeited unless they contact the instructor to arrange continuation.
5. Vouchers – Expiry & Non-Refundable Policy
- All lesson vouchers purchased are non-refundable and must be used within the validity period stated at the time of purchase.
- Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash or transferred to another learner.
- It is the learner’s responsibility to book and complete their lessons before the voucher expires.
6. Instructor Cancellations & Rescheduling
- In the rare event that the instructor needs to cancel a lesson (e.g., due to illness, unforeseen circumstances, or vehicle issues), the lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed time at no extra cost to the learner.
- If a lesson is delayed due to the instructor, any lost time will be added to a future lesson or rescheduled accordingly.
7. Road & Weather Conditions Policy
- Lessons will go ahead in most weather conditions; however, if road conditions are deemed unsafe (e.g., extreme snow or ice), the instructor reserves the right to reschedule at no extra charge.
8. Learner’s Fitness to Drive
The instructor reserves the right to refuse a lesson if the learner is unfit to drive, including but not limited to the following reasons:
- Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Extreme fatigue or illness affecting driving ability.
- Failure to wear appropriate footwear or glasses/contact lenses (if required).
- Any condition that may pose a safety risk during the lesson.
- If a lesson is refused for any of the above reasons, the lesson will still be charged in full.
9. Driving Test Bookings & Use of Instructor’s Car
- The use of the instructor’s car for the driving test is subject to approval and not guaranteed.
- The instructor must assess the learner’s driving ability before agreeing to provide the vehicle for the test.
- The fee for using the instructor’s car for the test must be paid in advance.
- If the learner cancels or reschedules the test, standard lesson cancellation policies apply.
10. Statutory Rights
- This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
